Do you know which species of Borellia this comes from?
European are usually Borellia Garni and Borellia Afzelii, below are my notes on Afzelii:

Late cutaneous manifestations (acrodermatitis), disorder affecting the metabolic uptake of zinc, characterized by periorificial (around the natural orifices) and
acral (in the limbs) patches and plaques of dry, scaly skin with alopecia
