Re: pure iodine is burnt kelp-which alters it chemically

All organic substances stem from something that is alive or has been alive.

However in organic chemistry, an organic material is a substance that comprises at least one carbon atom. An atom is an entity and cannot be split further, i.e a carbon atom cannot be changed into smaller parts; unless you are entering nuclear physics.

Iodine has never been living and is a simple element.

The recovery source of the Iodine can be organic such as seaweed or vegetables.

I understand what you are saying now about organic iodine. You mean organic sourced iodine. If it makes you feel better psychologically to take Iodine that has been recovered from organic substances, it is only psychological and not that it is pure; because as I said Iodine is a simple element. If you want iodine by ingesting seaweed, I see absolutely no problem with that either. It really matters what your ultimate goal may be.

If you are taking nascent iodine, for example, you are not taking pure iodine but one that has been processed. The diatomic bond has been broken. It has somehow been given an electromagnetic charge greater than its natural state. It does not mean that it is better or worse; though marketeers will have you believe so. If it can be kept nascent, then is has higher energy. So what?

It depends upon what your ultimate goal might be for the use of iodine at all. I like Iodex; because it is clear. The bottle says that it is "organic iodine" which is stupid. It better be pure, uncontaminated iodine. I like it for external application; so, I wanted iodine that is clear and mixed in a liquid. It is mixed in a base of glycerin, Sea Dulse, Alfalfa, and distilled water. So, I don't have what you would call pure iodine; but I do get about 150mcg in 2 drops. For internal use, I prefer Lugol's. I don't care where the iodine was sourced. I like it; because it is strictly iodine with Iodide from the potassium salt.

Sorry. I just matters to me for all the debates between iodine and iodine which has not been recovered to its true element.
