Hmm. If she's telling the truth, that's weird all those people don't know about it.

Perhaps she is lying -- for example, if she got her black eye in a way that she didn't want people to know, such as abuse or an embarrassing accident, then maybe she made up an story to cover it up. But that is really elaborate for a made-up story!
