I just received a nice note from the good folks at Dr. Christopher's Org. I forgot to mention Slippery Elm. It is a great healing herb, Mate. I have used it on my gut as well as on burns on my hand (2nd degree, no scarring).
We are now on Christopher's link page as the very first site recommended! http://www.herbsfirst.com/links.html
Here is the note from Dr. Christophers:
Hi Bob,
Sure - I should have thought of that myself. What a great site!!! I put you right at the top: http://www.herbsfirst.com/links.html
I noticed the IBS comments - one of the greatest healers is Slippery Elm - I like to just take 1 heaping tsp with a 4 oz. glass of water. I will take this 4 - 8 times a day for as many days are needed. I don't have IBS, but do get acidic at times and know how someone with IBS feels - very painful indeed. Below is also a link to other recommended remedies for colitus/IBS - they are thinking about making up the Slippery Elm & Licorice Root combo for people - but as I said the Slippery Elm alone is very healing. http://www.herbsfirst.com/ailmentsdescriptions/colitispg.html
