Out of control PCOS
I am age 29 and was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 20. At the time, I was about 40 lbs overweight, infertility, had horrible cystic acne, insulin resistance and so on. Fast forward, to 2004, I was finally able to get pregnant (without trying), but unfortunately had a stillbirth. Since then with diet and lifestyle, I was able to go from a size 14 to a 6, my skin is clear, my insulin resistance doesn’t exist, my cholesterol is low to normal and my blood pressure is low to normal.
Despite all of the changes I was able to make, my ovaries are still covered in cysts and my cycles are getting longer and longer though I was able to ovulate twice this year. My body is still showing signs of Estrogen Dominance. I tried vitex several times over the years, I tried Metformin 2000mg/day for two years and it didn’t help with anything, Clomid didn’t work (and made me ill)
In terms of diet, its gluten and all grain, soy, dairy, sugar, artificial sweeteners, high GI fruit, non organic produce, factory raised meat free. I can go on with what I don’t eat.
I am also pretty active.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with PCOS and PCOS related infertility when all else fails?
