At least you realize you have a tendency to try to "save" guys. Maybe it's the only way you can feel good about yourself? Or does it put you in the driver's seat? Only you can analyze your motivation, possibly with a counselor's help.

Sometimes "givers" have to learn a little selfishness to become balanced.

Regarding the storage...you might be paying the storage fee (in addition to the $ he already owes you) forever. He sounds like a deadbeat and isn't likely to pay up. You might want to consider suing in small claims court before the storage fees become more than the junk he's storing. At some point, he may figure it's cheaper to cut his losses now and then you'll be stuck with his stuff AND paying to store it. Happens alot.

Next time you hear some guy's sad story, run for the hills no matter the attraction. Do you find yourself turned off right away by self-supporting independent men? Gotta work on your own issues of helpfulness/control and see yourself as worthy for yourself alone. Tweet
