Just as a side note to isolating novel internal human pathogens. . . Multiple independent researchers have now isolated a louse/scabies-like vector from human host. This is from over at Silentsuperbug.

That particular bug was isolated from masses of pathogenic fibers precipitated by red wine mouth rinse...
