Re: research from london
None will pick or wipe off their lips unless they are under constant stress.
-that is not necessarily true. That would apply to someone with a specific habitual problem for coping (e.g., like biting nails) or someone that actually has a reason to pick at it (e.g., cosmetic reasons) or perhaps a combination of both.
They wouldn't be knowing that they are under stress.
-this would apply to people with poor habits mentioned above where they use picking as a coping mechanism. I'm not sure if you guys picked at your lips for coping with stress but i only did it for cosmetic reasons. I never wore lip balm or anything to keep my lips moist when i was young so it got cracked/chapped easily.
Normal person will not pick his lips since he dont have stress.
-not entirely true. Like i said, someone could merely do it for cosmetic reasons if its severely cracked or naive or both like i was.
I think stress is the main reason for EC.
-perhaps. However, then why can't our lips go back to normal when we are not stressed? There may have been a cascading/compounding effect from stress to trigger it but having less to no stress should make some improvement if its such a significant cause.
I didnt told stress is the only reason for EC,I said it is the main reason for EC.Most of us here got EC at their teen age.
-ok.
Teenagers obviously will be more stressed than others.
-not entirely true. People in their later ages can also be stressed (e.g., pressures from job, relationships, family, terminal illness, etc).
There may be some other reasons also for getting EC.
-yes i agree.
I think you are an exception here. But i believe mostly here got their EC due to stress.
-maybe. But, exactly how did everyone get EC with just stress? Are you saying they picked at their lips or suddenly crusts formed or something else?
