This "middle class" will include the pseudo rich... those that appear to have money, but who in reality, have far more liabilities than assets.

Check out any bankruptcy court. Outside of those who are there due to a medically induced bankruptcy (pharmedico taking it all), are ALL, at least in my experience, those who put on the show without the dough.

In addition, I believe that upper middle class individuals, who have been in the know about this whole mess, have eliminated debt, while increasing their self sufficiency (edible landscaping; perhaps a bit of livestock), have bartering skills AND a decent stash of real currency (gold\silver?) will possibly weather the storm... and may just survive.

That is assuming the "man" does not come in and confiscate it all... a real possibility if things get nasty.
