a note on castor oil

Hi desperadonyc5,

NOTE ON CASTOR OIL: Castor oil Castor oil is an old remedy that my parents used to take orally when they were kids to cleans their intestines, but the taste is horrible. I've heard that it's not good to take too much of it orally in case you have tendencies for appendisitis, but I'm not sure of that either.

A masseuse once told me that Castor oil is so absorbent that if you apply in on your skin over a cramped muscle, it penetrates to the muscle and helps relax it. She told me that it penetrates the skin of your abdomen to your intestines and may cause diarrhea overnight. My father-in-law (who is 86 years old) said that during his childhood, the leather baseball gloves were very hard and stiff when new, and it was customary to rub castor oil on them to soften the leather very effectively.

So, the good thing about castor oil is that you really don't have to take it orally for it to work, and it does work for alot of people. Sometimes, however, it may not be enough to remove all your odor-producing altered gut bacteria, so your doctor may prescribe lactulose. See the postings I've done on CureZone regarding my research of lactulose.
