Hi Nadia, sorry to hear of your flu, hope you get better soon. Anyway, when the doctor gives me Antibiotics , I usually throw away the prescriiption, so why don't you do that if you just need the sick note? Also - you are in Bonnie Scotland so its probably not your regular doc - just tell him you don't really want Antibiotics because they are a load of rubbish (in your own words though :). Not all doctors are pill pushers, you may be lucky and find a good one.
