I have to pipe up here. My daughter worked for a major berry company as a 'checker.' She was a pretty good chemestry student, so they paid her 10 bucks an hour to look at the berries that went into jams and juices under a microscope, and if the berries on the production line got too much non berry material, they would be considered 'juice' grade. Non berry material included things like baby birds, dirt, sticks, deer mice, and so on. Juice grade gets turned into Pop tarts, I haven't been able to eat one since.
She used to rescue the critters when she could, and we'd get them through baby status, and then let them go.
