Re: Problems at work place - Signs of being fired
Ah, office politics...I was never so glad to get out of that hell. It's junior high all over again. If you're "in", life is easy. If you're out, they amuse themselves by picking on you.
I could never play the game, either, and (foolishly) spoke my mind. Sure, it makes you feel better, but never helps you in the game. Even keeping to yourself quietly is reason for the jerks to come after you. So, other than giving the advice to play - which I couldn't do myself - I can only sympathize.
If a big-wig took a liking to you, you might want to utilize that to your best advantage. And once you become persona non grata, even "friends" on the job distance themselves to avoid your stink. Jeez. However, you seem pretty miserable, so I'm not sure it's worth it to keep trying.
If you do get another job, my best advice would be..if you can't bring yourself to play the game, at least keep your mouth shut about others on the job; it always gets back to the wrong person!
Good luck.
