I had my Amalgams replaced in Mexico. I do not use chelation per se. I did use extra vitamins C & E. Over the course of a couple years the mercury might be removed naturally by the body's defense mechanisms. Some people exposed to mercury contamination in industrial work places had varying degrees of health problems. Short term exposure was usually less devastating than long term exposure.
One chelation technique raised the amount of mercury being eliminated through the kidneys and excreted in the urine, but also produced short term deterioration of the nervous system as the chelated mercury was radical enough to react with nerve tissues.
Some recommended a significant period of time after Amalgam removal before chelation.
