amalgam repacement in Mexico?

How dangerous would it be to get the Amalgam fillings removed by a dentist in Mexico? My dentist is not exactly high-tech, but the price would be way better. Couldn't I just do a lot of mercury chelation afterwards if the removal protocol is not as strict as it is in the US?
