It has been my experience that age is a factor in how long it takes for this rebound effect to occur. Older people tend to have slower response times. This is just a general rule, and there will be exceptions. Yeah, when I was young, it was the day-after effect, but now that I'm thoroughly ensconced in mid-life, I find that it might be up to 2 or 3 days before I really begin to feel the results of over exertion.
