UPDATE!from 'aunt steph'- 19 yr. old niece with MS symptoms.

Hi all~ Just wanted to update everyone on my nieces progress. (she was being tested for MS due to MS symptoms, had her Mirena removed after 1 year) 3 days after having her Mirena taken out, ALL, yes, ALL of her symptoms started to subside. Her blurred/foggy vision, her tingling fingers and toes, etc.. Her gyn DID send her to a neurologist, who stated that the 'web is a bunch of wishy-washy stuff' (he had how many years of schooling?) Obviously, he'd never had to use a Mirena IUD. Should we make all male doctors start 'inserting' and testing them themselves before putting them into women? Actually, that is not fair, women doctors should be guinea pigs too! He scheduled her for another MRI which she has not had as yet, but it would be interesting to see if the 2-small dots on her optic nerve disappeared after having the Mirena taken out. The gyn DID say, the only way to tell if it is indeed the Mirena causing her symptoms, was to put it back in. Course, my niece said, 'hell no', but wouldn't that be an interesting way to show the makers that it IS the mirena causing all this pain and sadness?
Thanks for all the posts, you don't know how helpful you've all been!
