The term 'vegetarian' is defined by it's name. Vegetarians don't eat living creatures, no matter what size. Other people who are concerned about the planet or their health may eat vegetarian-like, but as soon as they eat something that was another creature, that is where the 'like' comes in and they are really not a vegetarian. The term has been muddied by people desiring to be called vegetarian, while not actually being one. The bad result of that is, people who really are vegetarians, are often served dishes with seafood or chicken in them, because it is believed that vegetarians eat some animals and, but not all. That is where you get the terms pescaterian - and such, and it actually makes more sense to me, because they are then defining themselves as to what they actually eat, rather than trying to say they are a vegetarian, which they are not. If eating insects was the new craze, I guess we'd need the term 'insectatarian'. But no, vegetarian means they don't eat any creature.
