I'm not saying I agree with this, but the philosophy behind the new birth control pills with fewer periods is that it supposedly mimics real life more closely than our periods do now.

"They" say that women weren't meant to have so many periods as we do now, because we used to have NO bc and therefore many more babies, essentially stopping periods for as much as 9 months per year! Today, we have fewer and none. Also, we are living longer and hence, more periods.

The main danger, in my mind, is taking synthetic hormones on a regular basis. Tweet
