You're right that it is not like playing trivia because trivia questions require rote memorization whereas algebra and reading comprehension require abstract reasoning which is why many people do poorly on the SAT despite taking Stanley Kaplan or other review classes.Algebra questions can be very diificult and problems in chemistry are often difficult because of the algebra involved.
Reading the questions first on the reading comprehension section is a sure way to lower your score as is reading the passage quickly and then returning to it in reference to specific questions. Anyway , lets forget the SATs on this political forum and get back to what's important like illegal aliens taking over my city.
