Eretrien, Even if EC was only a wound that still wouldn't make sense, on a normal wound you can peel a scab and it will heal but leave a more noticeable scar behind. It doesn't seem to me like the skin pileup is even a scab.. a scab is basically dried blood covering the wound no? Skin pileup is part of this condition, thats why I was saying before even if you left your lips alone when you first got EC the skin would eventually peel, peeling is a part of EC.

Please keep in mind EC is a disease not just a wound on the lip. Chronic inflammation is classified as a disease as well, they need to be treated seriously.
