Hi eritrean,

I think you see EC more as a wound rather than the disease it is classified as. I'm sure once the hard skin formed for the first time even if we left it from the beginning it would eventually fall off and the cycle would continue over and over again.

Also we have a few people from this forum who are trying to leave the hard skin on as long as possible, it may make the condition a bit better but I don't think its possible to cure EC this way.

I have personally left the skin on without touching it or applying any lotion for over a week, I find it just stressed me out much more than usual because I had flakes hanging off my lips. Thats one of the reasons I peel when the skin as soon as it is ready to come off. I noticed that the skin that grows outside of the vermilion border towards the mucosa grows thin and unevenly.
