You are the luckiest person

It's the person in charge. The person with the power over your livelihood. You are indeed blessed, even though times are tough. At least that person is in your corner.

It warms my heart to hear about bosses like that. It makes you think that there is humanity in the workforce.

I was a boss like that. At one point, I was told that I was not "riding" my employees hard enough. That if they were leaving on time, then they were not working "for their careers". I was furious, and told my company that if the numbers were coming in under budget, and things were working efficiently, then why should my employees spend time away from their families? I was told that my "pod" looked bad to the other pods, because everyone else was working overtime.

Can you believe that insanity? We got lambasted because we were efficient! We got called on the carpet because we were a good team that liked, and respected each other, and didn't mind picking up the slack for each other's jobs.

When I told them that I had a good team, and we were working well, and I couldn't possible hurt the morale of my team by doing this. They told me that I wasn't a team player.....How the hell can you argue with logic like that?

Sorry to be so negative after that truly inspiring post. I hate corporations. Gosh akashiccc, you are a very lucky person.

Peace, Molly
