Re: Weird reaction with sesame oil

Hi,

I do believe that there are different properties, including detox properties, associated with different oils -- both as a general rule and then as we see here, different results for different people using the same oils.

I don't think that sesame is harmful/dangerous in any way, in the sense that you're having a bad reaction to it. My experience is that sesame (which is one of the two recommended OP oils set forth at
http://www.oilpulling.com)
does produce some skin healing reactions -- whenever I take a break from it and return to it, I do experience more of a facial-skin healing crisis: for me that often takes the form of a breakout of the kind I never normally used to get. I have read about how sesame is considered great for the skin, and is a natural sunblock, and I love using both for OP and for cleansing/moisturizing (I mix some coconut and sesame together with a couple of droppers of Iodine and use it to cleanse and condition, leaving it on until it all absorbs if I have the chance to walk around here alone looking pretty greasy for a while, whereas if I need to go out I will just leave it on for 20 minutes or so and then wipe the excess off with a paper towel).

I usually get the dry-skin effect -- when I do -- with coocnut oil. Mostly I am a sesame oil OP'er as it's easy for me to get and fairly cheap even for the organic, although sometimes I will take a swig of my sesame-coconut mix for fun!

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to this - I saw it a couple of days ago and just have been slammed.

Best,

Laura
