Re: Jessesmom, two points to ease your mind...
Hi Fledgling,
I was just emailing Rabbitears about this very thing, she was also asking about the granddaughter.
You know what the unfortunate thing is-- the grandkids knew they hadn't felt good all winter, and were willing to do what it took to feel better. Out of the whole family, the 9 year old is the most self-disciplined--the homeopathic remedies the Alt Health Dr. had her taking, she was very dedicated and self-disciplined to make sure she took them each day as he had instructed her, and at the times he had given her the schedule for. She told me "Grandma I WANT to feel better".
What is so unfortunate, is the fear/oblivion/denial of the generations that have never done anything, or heard anything that has addressed the possibility of parasites in humans. In years past, people used to give castor oil to the whole family- and my dad was telling me that as a child, epsom salts were the "treatment" for many ailments.
It blew into a big tadoo when I made the mistake of mentioning that the granddaughter had coughed up anything--fear, maybe just being repulsed by the thought---the same little granddaughter will come into our bathroom and put if my toothbrush is laying on the sink, or in the open, she will put it away in the cabinet and tell me "Grandma- the other grandma says that you can't have your toothbrush out because germs will get on it when you flush the toilet!" Yet...to make sure no germs from flushing the toilet get on the toothbrushes...they all brush their teeth and spit in the kitchen sink instead! So, the other grandma already has a paranoia.
But, because of the fit that was thrown over the Alt Med Dr. saying he was sure the cause of the high platelets/chronic infection was parasite related- "he's a quack"--because no medical Dr would say that. So--now the little girl is getting NO treatment- it's just "normal" to have a high platelet count, and chronic infections because the Dr's said the lining of the lungs was thick--and the little girl "will just always have infections". Pretty sad, but ultimately- it's the parent's choice to do nothing, and think she's going to "just outgrow the asthma" because that's what the MD's told them.
It was interesting to watch the two sisters not long ago though. The 11 year old was telling the 9 year old to spit up what she was clearing out of her throat! I still haven't talked to an adult to find out what the facts of the story are--but the 11 year old was telling me about the sister of one of the older school kids...that she had had the "stuff in her throat" the phlegm, and the crap that so many people had had in their lungs around here this winter---and had been brought into the small town hospital emergency room, not being able to breath very well--and the Dr told her she was just having a panic attack, and gave her a popsicle--and she was dead 1/2 an hour later. THAT made an impact on both of those girls, whether that's what the whole story is or not, that's just how they told it to me--but they were sure it was from the "stuff" in her throat that had caused her to not be able to breath, and caused her to die--in their minds that was what caused her death, and yes, something they will always have in their minds for sure.
LIke I was just telling DD too--there's a total lack of public awareness, and people- frankly- would rather not hear about it, let alone do anything about it. Can you imagine what a difference there would be in the health of the general public, if parents in the US DID do parasite cleanses on the whole family? Kids would be easier to clean up if it was started on them at young ages, and taught that it's a "normal" thing to do. The wife of the Alt Med Dr. I go to, was telling me that in Nepal, where she is from- it's a normal thing to deworm the whole family several times a year. They use a "worm syrup" that is available on the store shelf-and it's a "normal", accepted thing to do.
The Rockefellers made a film in 1917 and presented it at public Fair's etc- mainly through out the southern states- to raise awareness of Hookworms. THAT's what we need today, but how likely is that going to be unless the FDA DOES list Parasites as a Disease--but then, like RG was saying if that does happen, which very well could--it would force the herbalists to have to get pharmaceutical licenses, which would be too costly- and they could be arrested for "practicing medicine without a license" if they continued to make the formulas- RG said they could even be arrested for growing the herbs on their property that "could" be used for the formulas.
I hope it never happens..but if it did, we wouldn't have the alternative choices we have now...and I sure haven't heard "success stories" with people on the pharmaceuticals for treating parasites...
Thanks for the reply Fledgling. It came at the same time that I was just thinking about it again myself. People really are close minded about the thought of parasites--maybe it takes getting really sick from the darned things to decide you need to do something about them, and that they are for real inside of most every human being on this earth.
