Look into Shakti Gawain's Creative Visualization if you haven't already - a book written long before The Secret. She explains things a bit more scientifically but simplistically - tho Bryne discusses the premise of frequency better, which somewhat dilates the works of Gawain, Tolle, et al.

It's a matter of approach, mindset, internal and external communication, conviction/determination - not simply the desire of a specific or general outcome.
