Re: Double Charged Ionizers-Where are they at....

Hello "That Air Guy",

I had an opportunity to read your analysis and review of a variety of air purifiers which included a most through data info covering every aspect of the process and products for air purification. Again thanks for being so meticulous in this endeavor.

I am still trying to decide between the Sharp Plasma Cluster and the Ecoquest (the new $800.00 model). I read as many customer reviews of both models as I could and I do agree that some of the negative responses about the Ecoquest and Sharp were bogus, but some of the ones that I felt to be legitimate pointed out some problems. Some reviewers of the Ecoquest complained of the creation of a damp clammy environment and others complained of the choking side effect of the cleaning process. Now in reference to the "choking" I beleive that they are refering to Ozone process, but it is my understanding that the new top of the line Ecoquest does not use ozone in the cleaning process and there were at least three reviewers who complained of a damp house side effect from this air purifier. Multiple people did complain of an elaborate process of cleaning this unit. It appears that some people have no problem, but many others have difficulty with the maintenance process. Do you have any opinion on these issues?

In reference to the Sharp model, the only complaint basically was that it did not work, but there were multitudes of people who said that it did work and worked well.

I personally would prefer to get an air purifier that can clean a 3500 sq ft home compared to one that basically does one room from 350-250 sq ft. If I did get the Sharp and found that I liked it, I would most probably need to obtain two more units which would make my investment $900.00 plus dollars as compared to $800.00.

The only other info from the reviewers was that the Sharp at full fan speed was very quiet whereas the Ecoquest was much louder. Again! I would appreciate any info from "That Air Guy" or any other members of this forum.
