Re: Mirena and terrible side effects!!!

I too was not told of the side effects, everything in my pre-consultation was positive I asked about weight gain as well, and she said no. I was sent home with one pamphlet and no where in it did it go through the BAD side effects, I have not had any of your issues but I had anxiety, depression, nervousness, nausea, panic attacks, heart palpitations, I had it in for only 5 weeks. I am 17 weeks post and even though I am much better than the 1st 2-3 months I still have bad days. I am not back to work, my dr keeps messing with my meds I have to take 25mg of xoloft as well as 1mg of klonopin. I also am one of the ones that will get any ans every side effect possible even if the odds are 1/100,000. I never liked taking tylenol for headaches before the mirena and now I am forced to have to take 2 meds 2x every day, I hate that and the mirena, I have no doubt the mirena is causing your breakouts, hormones are not to be messed with. That is the one thing I have learned through this experience. My husband went and got a vastectomy 4 weeks ago, we have 2 healthy boys a 6yr old and a 1 yr old. No more hormones for me. Take care.
