Re: Please help - dog with no appetite

HI Bagsy,
thank you so much for all the info:)
that must have taken sometime to type.
Like you, I've had previous dogs with kidney failure, and it is very difficult to feed them - they seem to universally hate the low protein food.
At one really acute episode with Jason, he ate custard and chocolate chip muffins for 2 weeks. lol I thought the vet would have a fit, but he was quite pleased - Jason was eating and it was low protein:)
Chloe however is another matter, she did eat a small lamb chop yestaerday, and I've been offering her everything you can imagine. I'm waiting on her colliodal silver arriving and have started her on selenium - trying to think outside the box. And it was after the selenium she ate, so I'm not giving up yet, and taking all the good advice on board.
I've had some serious gastrointestinal bleeding myself, and have stopped it with potatoes and carrots - recently i'VE been adding them to potatoe and leek soup, with a little cayenne pepper - it seems to coat the whole GI tract and cauterise the bleeding vessels. So far Chloe has refused it, but today I'm trying a few syringe fulls every couple of hours- hope it helps.
Many thanks for all your help and support,
tigerheart
