IUD Pain and Ebmedded

I have had my Merina for 4 years. The string went missing last month. After searching with a hook in my uterus, they sent me to ultrasound. 20 minutes later it was seen, partially embedded in uterine lining.

My doc thinks this is no biggie, and tells me she can still get it out without surgery. I am having some strange and very sharp pains in my uterus - they are not constant but do stop me in my tracks. My doc can't see me for 2 more months and at this point I have no idea when thi stupid thing will come out.

Do you think this pain is from IUD? Its nothing like cramps and is very specific stabbing pain. pls help!
