i still have the egain stuff from ages ago....never really used it.

Never heard of it. Procerin is one of the few that work at all. Nisim is one of the few others. Many charlatan products out there.

i think the other stuff is minoxidil or something? do you recommend i take it?

Tried minoxidil and I just couldn't keep using it. Kind of greasy looking and irritated my scalp. If you take your fingers and massage your scalp not rubbing but moving the scalp for a several minutes twice a day you will get the same results as minoxidil. More blood circulation to the hair follicle without the drug. Also stretches out the scalp allowing more room for blood flow.
