This just happened to me.....

I had a filling replaced, completely elective. He was drilling away like a maniac and I actually saw chunks of filling flying out of my mouth. I had immediate pain from that point on, even though the dentist told me, "You had some decay under the filling but I didn't get anywhere near the pulp." I went through a real ordeal of unbelievable pain before the tooth finally abcessed. Fortunately my tooth is still alive and I hope to save it by using a magnetic pulsar to kill the bacteria. I have a new dentist too. He is conventional but open to new ideas. He replaced my last Amalgam and was very gentle and thorough. He is willing to try pulp capping if it comes to that and also does root canals with the new hydrophilic materials rather than gutta percha. I hope I don't have to make that decision but I might consider it.
