I like to do a number of things. There are several things to consider.

First, there are likely mucous conditions to deal with. Reducing dairy, meat, and other mucous generating foods will start. pH may be out of whack as well, and needs balancing.

A juice fast (Paavo Airola style) is really, really good and can kill the whole thing if done properly for several days, especially with supplements that will kill the candida.

I have found the following effective as antifungals:

- cinnamon sticks (potent)
- ajwain seed (thymol)
- Colloidal Silver
- grapefruit seed extract
- turmeric (frozen or a high quality powder)
- oregano oil
- raw onions and raw garlic
- threelac/fivelac (more of a probiotic)
- pau d'arco tincture
- capryllic acid/psyllium husk & fiber

Currently I also have fennel and licorice root tinctures on deck. Can't find warburgia from where I'd like to get it so have not tried it.

The problem is multifaceted. You need to avoid alcohol and caffeine, and other things that will kill off biotics and stress your colon. You need to shed the mucous lining to expose the candida's homes. You need to kill the candida. You need to rebuild probiotics. You need to adjust your diet and it also helps to have a rather relaxed lifestyle that does not include large amounts of stimulants like caffeine or alcohol.

For prevention of reoccurence, the intestinal walls may be strengthened considerably through the use of slippery elm and american saffron teas. Elm in the morning, saffron in the evening. A pinch per cup, hot but not boiling water, steep 1/2 hour. Use for 3 weeks at a time, leave off for a while, then repeat. Following that, a diet featuring probiotics such as living yogurt, kefir, or acidophilus supplements may be helpful.

Candida is not easy to deal with but it is an opportunistic infection that takes advantage of what it is given! Remove the source of it and it will go away.
