Re: One would think this should be important on the 5 year aniversary...
Watch the winter soldiers would be like trying to believe Kerry and his war record. I know a half dozen young Marine Vets who have fought in Afganistan and Iraq( 1 of them my son; has fought in both countries and shed his blood in both but has his life and limbs) none of whom will have anything to do that group. Just like Kerry is to Real Vietnam vets they are consdiered by real Iraq vets to Wanatabee, an REMF's, i bet you;ll find some never even left the States. I don't know one real Vietnam Vet that wouldn't like 5 minutes in a room with Kerry alone.Personaly i give my left nut for the oppurtunity. The young Vets of Today feel the same way about the pretenders getting media attention.
Atrocities my rear end. War is an ugly, painful, terrifing, things so horrifing that your mind can't comprehed WTF is going on. Later it all comes back in your dreams and it replays in vivid Techicolor. No one who has been there and lived it, will talk about in Public, it hard enough to share with those who have been there.
PS the 6 Iraq vets I talk and coorespond with above have 7 purple hearts, 4 bronze Stars, 3 Silver Stars, and 1 navy Cross between. None of them plan to pretend to throw them away.
