Re: How long is safe/healthy?
Hi there,
Congrats on getting rid of the Mirena. Those things always freaked me out.
Fasting isn't dangerous is you follow some simple guidelines and listen to your body.
Often times when we are injured or sick our bodies lose appetite in order to push us into a fast. The digestive system is the single most energy consuming system we have. Sometimes its necessary to shut it down in order to fix other things. Doctors know this but tell you that you should fast before surgery so you don't vomit. It's so your body is better apt to jump start recovery.
drink plenty of fluids green tea has nutrients in it that will keep you healthy even though you aren't eating.
You can also choose to restrict what you eat to very low calories and natural foods.. Ir a handful of salad, a 1/4 cup of brown rice... Something else natural you like cucumbers... nuts.
Dont consume any chemicals aside from caffeine in your coffee (unless you smoke then what are you going to do not eat and not smoke? LOL)
stay away from fruits and sugars. tomato is a fruit.
dont lift weights, your heart is a muscle and muscles rob from each other to heal.
a multi vitamin is a really good idea.
and aspirin if you are really overweight will also keep your blood thing in case there is some loose plaque in your arteries.
If you feel dizzy eat something small. If you feel weak do the same.
Fasting should make you feel great and a
Water Fast is NOT for everyone. There are many other ways to fast. Just keep the calories to around 4-600. make sure to have coffee or tea in the am to flush ya out.
Make sure you monitor your weight throughout the day. Not for weight, but for water intake too. Do not drink a ton of water. 64
oz of fluid is sufficient. You cannot process water without a bit of salt so try to keep that in mind... this is how people OD on water and drown.
