Hi,

This is only a personal opinion and if you really are going on a long fast, please consult a doc. first :D

ok, fasting alone doesn't help to lose weight, but it does aid in losing more weight.

It usually takes 3 days for the body to go into ketosis. Since this is your first fast i recommand a 3-5 days water fast. Personally i feel 7-14 days will be very effective and you will be able to see the results. Anything above 30 days should not be done in the first attempt.

I do recommand a juice fast first, as it doesn't take a toll on your body and you can carry on with your daily life. You can also try a mix of water and juice fast.

It is also very important that you break a fast correctly otherwise all your hard work will go down the drain. If you are on a 7 day water fast, use the other 7 days to transistion your body into solid food again.
