"People who treat animals better than they treat people are a detriment to society. I hope you are not one of these people."
All living creatures are worthy of our care...certainly animals give us their love and companionship, often more than "humans".
To those who consider our earthly companions to be lesser than humans, the question is why? The usual answer is we consider ourselves superior due to our so-called superior brain.
However, Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane posed a question to set all the "superiorists" on their ear: More and more earthlings are acknowledging that there may be life on other planets....if this life turns out to be vastly "superior" in inteligence - reducing US to the status of animals - I'm sure you won't object to being killed off for merely convenience sake or illness!
Be prepared for close encounters of the lesser compassionate...and it would serve us right.
