I tend to agree. The testing and analysis by scientific authorities is setup to be looking for the elemental form. This is removed from context and a fundamental flaw of today's science as it pertains to medicine and nutrition for humans. If iodine is not present in this fashion, the test is negative and the road ends for the medically minded.
Additionally, its quite possible that iodine does not come out to play until it is metabolized by the body. No doubt the body converts combinations of mineral into forms it needs. Walnut tree iodine may be such a case.
Therefore, I would never accept a test unless it was testing for the presence of iodine (increase or decreasing amounts) in the human body while supplementing on walnut iodine. This would be the perfect context for testing.
