Re: Allowing versus Tolerance
Ynaig, Welsh did something original and Hicks too, ET does not. As simple as that. The people of the Secret didn't do anything so very original, but didn't they begin by saying: there's a secret that has been around for centuries...they did mention that, they did actually declare they had discovered nothing new. They've been honest.
If at least ET didn't imply that these ideas he has borroughed are his, it would be ok enough. That he didn't encounter the truth he speaks of without that tradition is indicated by the language he uses, which is the same. It would't be so if he had encountered that truth his own way. So he is being dishonest.
Now the art of allowance doesn't make me a braindead that takes in whatever teaching without testing it. I'm in this with Buddha that recommended to test his teachings with the same precision used by those who buy gold. The resonating is all right, because what he talks of is truth of jade, but him as a source is not pure and this is important to be aware of, IMO.
So, the idea is, enjoy the teaching but be alert, as ET is not what he claims to be. I don't see what's wrong with that.
