Funny Grz, no one has responded to your post..
I guess it's because it has no real relevance to anything we might be experiencing here in our own nation, right? NOT!
Although in the back of everyone's mind it seems as if Colombia made a move to invade and occupy Ecuador, the fact is that as risky as this action was, not a single Ecuadorian life was lost to this incidence. Under more normal circumstances, Ecuador would have been in a much more cooperaticve mood with Colombia, seeing this as part of a threat to all 3 countries involved. However, the terrorist they got was being funded by Ecuador and Venezuela, so it's as good a time as any to cry foul to the rest of the world over Colombia's actions. Meanwhile, Venezuela has marched military troops to its borders with Colombia (say, what a novel idea, let's do that here!!!!) and to date Chimpvez has given more than ***$300 million*** in support to the FARC (Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces) - - But wait, gee whizz Ethel, that's a whole lot of dough coming from a country that has so many poor people, that it needs the wonder of socialism in order to equalize the imbalances between the haves and haves-nots!!! What's up with that?!?!? And anyway, what does this whole thing have to do with us Mr. and Mrs. America, we have enough problems of our own, why should we care??
Because for one, if Americans had not fallen asleep at the wheel so long ago, they would wisely see some paralells and some warning road signs.
1) That socialism is a big fat lie, propagated by greedy and hypocritical wealthy dictators who feed off the ignorance and gullibility of the masses. But all we see is how we have a president who got us involved in spending millions of dollars and lives in a war that is justified with the illusion that it's for our own safety, but we applaud and support foreign despots who are as bad or worse. Megalomaniacs who dare to criticize America's actions but laugh when they do the same.
2) Because not being wise enough to detect and discern the traits, we are willing to fall for the same lies to which people in other nations have fallen, except of course in our arrogance we say we are --too smart, --too big, ---this could never happen to us. Meanwhile it is hapenning right under our noses.
3) Because we are willing to allow a BIG Government to make all kinds of decisions for us in exchange for our individiual freedoms, but we refuse to see how this has not worked elsewhere. We swoon, faint and support a presidential candidate/rock star that is going to ♪♫ ~"sit down and talk to"~ ♫ ♥♪♪ despot leaders like Chimpvez, who doesn't shut up long enogh to catch his breath, let alone allow anyone else to talk. He's going to make friends with these leaders and accomplish ♫dialog♫, and we swallow it up whole and lick for more. A candidate whose entire candidacy has been chanting the illusive and unspecified mantra of ~change~, and whose present liasons and promise of future ones should have us cringing in horror!!
4) Because we think that the greatest challenge facing us is to remove our own chimp in the White House, even if we have to do that by installing one from a choice of; a)-giving up all our individual health freedoms by brute force, b)- a masked, socialist Pandora's box , or c)- a lunatic who can lose his temper at the drop of a hat and who will maintain the military status quo. Great choices.
I can accept that this has all been programmed in spite of our better knowledge by the PTB. But I have a real hard time with ignorance and apathy. I don't know what I hoped to accomplish when I started to write this rant, but all I ask is, please look hard and learn. Echoing what Rokybird said in another post, I hope at least we go down with a bang and not whimpering.
Oh, and in response to Grz's post; be forwarned, socialism DOES NOT WORK!
When someone, somewhere actually implements an honest socialist system that does, I will be the first in line to sign up....
