cortisone shots

I got a cortisone shot from the dermatologist on Tuesday. It has completely changed my lips as of today. They are much healthier. Cortisone injection-in the hip-relieves inflammation in the body. I have also been using CETAPHIL moisturizer on them at all times. It soaks in really well.
I believe that when the shot wears off, I will once again be dealing with this problem, but I thought someone might want to know that if you ever need a fix, go get a Cortisone shot. You know, like if you have a hot date or wedding or photo shoot or something LOL. We all have special times in our lives when we want to look our best. Get one a few days before you need it.
Something to consider...
ALSO-I have been more aware of my lip chewing and as far as I know, I haven't been chewing or peeling them. HOWEVER-now I seem to be biting way below my bottom lip on the inside of my mouth. I notice that I do this when I am nervous, uncomfortable, or on edge.
I read somewhere that anxiety medication is effective in treating EC.
I don't know...
ANNNDDD-my mom has a strange peeling of the skin on her thumbs. It just peels and finally splits. They haven't found the cause or any aggravated and the only thing that has helped her is Cortisone shots. She took 3 last year and I guess they finally wore off because now her thumbs are splitting again. Possibly related? Possibly a heredity thing?
