Re: large and small intestines

Some people feel that a magnesium based cleanse like Oxypowder or Colosan will help clean both the large and small intestine by turning accumulated waste to liquid and adding extra oxygen. I feel my best success in cleansing the small intestine and improving nutrient absorption was doing The Master Cleanse followed by a liver flush.

Diet is extremely important when cleansing the small intestine. You need to avoid mucus producing foods like dairy and grains. Digestive enzymes also help. Okra Pepsin 3 is a wonderful product and is especially formulated to address the small intestine.

The right product for colon cleansing is a little more complicated. If you are very constipated and "plugged up" do a magnesium based cleanse. If you have weak peristalsis and have trouble pushing out stool then a stimulant herbal formula is helpful. The herbs that irritate the colon causing it to contract and relax and push out the stool can be addicting and care must be taken not to become too dependant on them. Triphala is the gentlest of the stimulant laxative and can be taken for a much longer period of time. You might want to strt with a stronger formula for a couple of weeks, then finish your cleanse with the Triphala for as long as it takes to become regular. You sound like you do not want to do a fiber based cleanse. However, they can be helpful. You don't have to use psyllium. Plenty of plant fiber plus apples and pears for their pectin make excellent and natural intestinal cleansers that do not abrade the walls of the intestines.

Whatever you decide to do, be sure and drink lemon water several times a day. Fresh lemon juice in water is good for cutting mucus and it is also good for cleansing the kidneys. A cup of hot water with lemon juice first thing in the morning will help stimulate the colon and liver.
