Re: Does iodine cause kidney stones?

Hi #88426,

(I have not posted a message in a long time, due to some things I'm going through myself lately - just reading sometimes; but because I KNOW firsthand what kidney stones are, I feel I have to chime in):

I truly do NOT believe Iodine caused your problem. You've been supplementing with Iodine for a few weeks, as you said, and you probably worked your way up to 5 dr/day, 2-3 weeks ago, if I am not mistaken. This is a a pure coincidence. It is in our human nature to attempt to identify the most obvious reasons - at least to ourselves (find scapegoats, if you wish), for whatever is happening to us. I promise you, it is not the iodine.

TRUST me, it takes a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time for kidney stones to develop - YEARS- much longer than a "few weeks". I will not bore you with the details of August 31, 1998 - the day I had the PAIN. I do not want to get into details, because I do NOT want to frighten you. But I have not forgotten ANYTHING about that day.

I would like to just focus on what helped. I ended up in the emergency room. They gave me nothing to ease the pain, so if you're ever in that situation (I hope not), please ask for a PAINKILLER - the STRONGEST they have. There's no need for anyone to suffer when everyone knows what's going on (I live in Canada, and if you don't ASK for a painkiller in a hospital, you WON'T get it - I learned this the hard way). Please don't get me wrong, I am NOT a promoter of painkillers, or any other man-made, PARTICULARLY Big Pharma-pushed chemicals. But in this particular case, they do THE JOB. The stronger the painkiller, the better. I was fortunately given Oxycocet, at my request, BEFORE I killed anyone, which was a VERY good thing, in retrospect.

What I would do if I were you: I would buy the kidney cleanse (or whatever she calls it) from Julia Chang.

(you may have to check the US currency) Scroll down to Kidney Tea.

It consists of 3 herbs: Gold Coin Grass, Corn Silk (VERY different from the anaemic North American corn silk, I must say, and hope I do not step on any tender toes with that statement) and Eucommiae Cortex (Bark). It's about 36$ or so plus S&H. Phone her and ask for a sample of how much of each herb should be boiled in 2 litres of water, she will pack it separately, so you know how much of each herb to use. Make the tea, drink 2 litres of it per day (absolutely NO sugar) until you finish all you've got, ususally 4-6 weeks; so it's actually a pretty good deal. Make the tea with distilled water, or at least spring water. MAKE SURE the label says "0 % fluoride ions" on it. You should feel a difference within the first 2-3 days. Two of my friends are doing it right now and have done it for the past 3-4 weeks. They both reported "detox" issues, particularly the one who has NOT done any detox protocols yet. But they both feel the effects. I do Julia Chang's kidney detox once every 2 years and have done so for the past 8 years, just to "open up the pipes". It gets easier as you move along. Remeber, if the stone(s) is already too large, you may not be able to avoid the pain of eliminating the stones, but the Gold Coin Grass herb may be able to break it into smaller pieces, which will be easier to pass.

Drink 2 litres of pure water after you finish the tea, EVERY DAY for the rest of your life. Check out the kidney forum on CureZone, very good info there. But all I did for 8 years, was Julia Chang's tea. It's easy to do and you'll get used to the taste. I actually learned to like it. I hope you will, as well. Check out this link:

The stone I had was the closest to the top-left image, subtitled "Agony" (a gross understatement, I would say). It was 1.2cm in diameter (1/2 inch), and sharp as a thousand blades. I kept it for 9 years, but I tossed it out last year; the idea was I didn't want to focus on the negative.

I found another one that looks much more similar to what I had, except for the colour, which was tan:

I wish you well, from the bottom of my heart - and please keep us posted.
Take good care of yourself.
