Based on my very limited medical information, I'll tell you the limited info on pH factors that I have learned. Based on this, we have determined what face soap, bath soaps, and body lotions best helps neutralize the very strong base pH of trimethylamine (pH 9.8). I can't pinpoint one specific website from which I got this info because it is a compilation of various government and professional medical websites.

These are figures I got from various websites, and I’m not really sure what they mean. I do understand that the normal skin pH is 5.5-6.5, which is a little acidic, and trimethylamine is very alkalosis. Sooo… it stands to reason that the goal is to get the alkalosis down to the normal skin pH by using soaps that are closer to the normal skin pH – and to use them regularly, especially after perspiration.

pH factors: Acidosis < 7; alkalosis > 7.5
Trimethylamine is a strong base (pH 9.8)
Normal skin pH 5.5-6.5
Alcohol has low pH (pH 2 in aqua)
