Way back
That is indeed a good question. Of course hind-sight is 20-20 and often leads to hind-speak. Truth-speak might lead to an answer of "about the same time that illegals surpassed the number needed to do all the grunt work, lower paying jobs like digging ditches, picking fruit, mowing and trimming, babysitting, cooking, etc. and began to eat into the by-Gawd real blue collar jobs that required skills such as using a hammer or screwdriver, or other complicated tool, and, thanks to unions, getting paid more than school teachers to do it.
But that is all merely a dust-up in the wind now. We obviously have a problem when you see communists and socialits wanting to kick out immigrants.
My answer for immigration and just about everything else that ails this country would be to go back to the time of the declaration of independence and the constitution, take a strict constitutional look at all laws and codes since then and toss out the ones that do not adhere to the constitution. Insofar as immigrants, the only ones that should ever be permitted should be ones who drop the hyphens, learn to speak and read our language, and become just Americans who swear an oath to uphold the constitution and be loyal to it above any other code or set of beliefs. If they are unwilling or unable to do that, that is OK, they just don't need to be here.
