as i understand it, those things will outgas from the water anyway. one can dechlorinate water by simply allowing it to sit out at room temp. since these chemicals are released at lower temps, they also are condensed at lower temps than the water. my water is pretty darn clean when i am done. measure the purity of the water with and without the filter and then we can talk. my money is on the water without the filter being purer. uncleJ has the ability to perform this test and owns a sears distiller like mine. maybe you could ask him.
