I suffered from joint pain while I had mirena in. It was mostly in my fingers. After removal in september last year the pain kept getting worse. On the advice of one of the other girls on here I got tested for arthritis. I have a positive Rheumatoid Arthritis factor in my blood. I am also having heaps of tests at the moment to work out which auto-immune disease(s) I have. I believe Mirena either caused or triggered these problems. It looks like I may actually have lupus and sjogrens disease. I have constant joint pain which has spread to my feet, hips, shoulders, elbows and is still in my hands. I have constant mouth ulcers; I have had a bad cold for almost 8 weeks now; I have been hospitalised for a simple stomach bug which my body couldn't tolerate; I can no longer go shopping on my own as I get dizzy and disorientated in fluorescent lighting; I can no longer spend much time in the sun as it also causes dizziness. I still have Acne from when I got mirena in, and I cannot lose any of the 20kg I gained while mirena was in. I believe mirena ruined my life.
If your joint pain continues or you have any other ongoing or questionable symptoms please get it checked out.
