Defining "fear"


"Vaccination is all about fear."

No - it's about taking sensible precautions against diseases that need to be taken seriously.

The following example illustrates the difference between what you regard as "fear" and what I term "scaremongering":

Poster #1: Seatbelts are proven to prevent serious injuries and save lives. Therefore it makes sense for there to be mandatory seatbelt laws, to protect people and save on health care costs that affect everybody.

Poster #2: Seatbelts are dangerous! Lots of people get trapped in cars by seatbelts and can't escape an accident. You're better off being thrown clear!!

Poster #1: That's untrue. You're far better off wearing a seatbelt (cites studies).

Poster #2: That's just what the government wants you to think. You're a fascist!


You tell me who, in the above example, is being the scaremonger.
