Please be careful with the iodine. It is not necessarily the answer to low funtioning thyroid and can actually make things worse, if it isn't appropriate. As I said, if your thyroid is underfunctioning then you need to screen for Hashimoto's (TPO antibody test). If you are positive for Hashimoto's, which is THE most common form of under functioning thyroid (80% of all cases) then YOU WILL MAKE IT WORSE. Also, in anyone,
Iodine in excess of what is actually needed will have a thyroid suppressant effect. Do this one step at a time. We can figure out later whether you need the
Iodine (I can help with that....a neat little home test....ask me later when we get to it).
If you have Hashimoto's (which I'm not at all saying you necessarily do), then your problem isn't underfunctioning thyroid, but rather your problem is autoimmune. It will have to be delt with from that level. Again, we'll talk. :)
