The folks here equate socialism with Stalin style communism which was a failure. They get so freaked out by the thought of sharing that they think George Booosh and co. are communists because they impose taxes on them. Of course the neocons misuse the tax revenues for corporate military industrial complex welfare through their policy of imperialist wars.

But I do not believe the New World Order is a socialist minded cabal but more of an feudal aristocratic bunch who really are only interested in the elite.

The last century saw the death of 120 million people at the hands of their own govt and 75 million during wars so it is not the best of times by that measure.
Freedom is relative, if you die from smallpox at the rate of 1 in 3 you arent all that free. So you can say people live longer and are freer today.
